But that was not always the case. A couple of watershed moments in my life include reading Donn Fendler’s story “Lost on A Mountain in Maine” when I was a boy and taking my first trip to Deboullie as a young man. If you need it to get down the ski hill, you can probably find it at a ski swap. For those of us in Aroostook, November is ski swap season – four of ‘em between now and Thanksgiving! To me, the ski swaps are the harbinger of all things good. In my world, that means snow, and of course, skiing.
