#AroostookThing of the week: The 1st
Annual Fort Kent Outdoor Center Team USA vs. Team Canada Halloween 5k/10k Trail
Race in Fort Kent.
Sometimes, running can feel like a chore.
Some
people are born to run; they need to run to de-stress, clear their minds, stay
on track.
Some
people run for fitness and some run just for fun.
If
you fall into any of these categories, or even if you really don’t like to run,
like me, you may want to consider a fun running event this weekend in Fort
Kent.
The
1st Annual Fort Kent Outdoor Center Team USA vs. Team Canada Halloween Trail
Race featured a 1k Kids’ Race for those 12 and under, as well as 5k and 10k
courses for the older set.
Runners
in costume receive time bonus in the 5k and 10k races. So, you could run faster
just by donning that Superman or Wonder Woman costume that you’ve been saving
just for this occasion.
Registration
is at 10:30 a.m. at FKOC, which is located at 33 Paradis Circle.
The
kids’ race starts at 11:45 a.m. and the 5k/10k race starts at 12:00 p.m. Cost is
$15/runner, though the kids’ run. Contact Jeff Dubis jdubis@maine.edu FMI
